Most beat battles and producer showcases are taylored to industry professionals. But how would a general party crowd respond? B.L.A.P. (Beats Love Alcohol Party) was created to answer that question. Take four producers - a couple of known veterans and a few undiscovered talents, put them in front of a party and tell them to play their beats - its that simple. What separates B.L.A.P. from similar events is its casual nature. There is no stage and patrons are encouraged to dance. For the party goer unaware of the scene it becomes a new experience. For the industry pro, the laid back atmosphere provides a more comfortable arena to network & find their next hit producer. Created by Illmind, the producer for artists like 50 Cent, Redman, & The Jabbawockeez (ABDC's 1st season champs) who knows who will show up for this event series. Soon enough, everyone will know at B.L.A.P. - the MPC becomes the turntable.

My Personal 2009 WRAP-UP

So, basically, this is the first time in a LONG time that i'm actually blogging in "conversation-style".. 2009 was one of the most interesting years for me, professional, and personal.. I'm thankful for so many people.. we kicked off 2009 with an insane release party for my BLAPS, RHYMES & LIFE compilation (which was Vol. 2 actually), and this was the first release party that TEAM !LLMIND put together.. with sponsorships from a handful of great clothing companies, to MISS INFO hosting the event, it really set the bar for us to bring nothing but quality with the release parties.. 2 more followed, and they were equally as crazy, so i'm looking forward to many, MANY more in the future!.. I lost my nephew, ELI this past June to a rare infection of bacterial menengitis.. it's always so hard for me to go back and visit that experience, but this world works in mysterious ways, and what I know is that we will always miss him and will never forget.... Eli touched my heart in a way that i've never experienced, and i know he has touched so many... this year i also met my future wifey.. moved to a 3 bedroom brownstone in BROOKLYN, and this is the first time i'm NOT living in NJ.. huge move for myself, but a life changing one nonetheless.. the beat battles and producer showcase judging was fun, and i expect to do more... my new PRODUCER SHOWCASE event, called B.L.A.P. (beats x love x alcohol x party) was merely an idea of mine for the past 2 years, and i'm so glad that we took this idea off the ground and made it into a reality.. i see nothing but BIG things for this event, and best beleive we are going to take this thing WORLDWIDE!.. i worked with one of the most promising and talented boxers in the world, NONITO DONAIRE, and created an energetic introductino theme for him to come out to during his fights.. this year, I took my MUSIC PRODUCTION teaching career to another level and got hired at NYU (Clive Davis School of Recorded Music).. teaching at NYU is something i never would have expected.. i look forward to contributing as much as i can with this incredible program... also, this year i worked with a SLEW of new/upcoming talent... these guys remind me everyday how incredible a feeling it is to create great music, no additives or preservatives... i really do get a high when i'm creating a beat or putting a song together in the studio, and believe it or not, but i DON'T smoke weed or drink while i make music.... if i did, i probably wouldn't know what to do with myself...

Moving forward in 2010, there are so many goals to be met, so many people to meet, and lots of GREAT music to, not only make, but release on platforms for the world to hear.. major placements are underway, but those are the cherry on top... BLAP NYC producer showcase events are going to take over, and expect 3 MORE Blaps, Rhymes, & Life compilations and release parties from us this year... also expect a special project from new jeruz's own REDMAN, entirely produced by me, along with a handful of full length projects that I am executive producing... i need to BIG UP team !llmind aka the BLAP BOYZ, all of whom have been very instrumental in the contribution to this whole movement, Freddy, Humberto, Ben, Jay, Will, our team is growing and the only direction to go is UP...

EVERYTHING is good energy to me.. thank you all for the continued support...
